Investigating the causes of tendency to run away from home among high school girls in the second district of Yazd

Introduction: One of the most important issues in Iranian society in the last two decades has been severely involved and has suffered many blows has been the issue of girls running away from home and being exposed to all kinds of social harms. As a result, in the present study, an attempt is made to investigate the causes of the tendency to run away from home among high school girls in the second district of Yazd. Methodology: The present field research is methodical, survey, cross-sectional and applied research. The statistical population is all students in Yazd. The sample size was 367 using Cochran's formula. . In this research, the probabilistic sampling method of classification according to volume has been used. The tool used is a questionnaire. Its validity was content type and Cronbach's alpha coefficient was used to calculate reliability. Results: The results showed that the tendency to run away from home is above average among students. There was also a significant relationship between family environment, group of friends, parental violence, parental addiction and media use with the tendency to run away from home. But there was no significant relationship between parents' cold relationship and the tendency to run away from home. The results of regression analysis show that according to the coefficient of general adjustment, the remaining variable in the regression equation explains 40.2% of the variance of the dependent variable. Conclusion: As a result, related organizations such as welfare centers, counseling and assistance should pay attention to this type of girls and their personal-family problems and help them.
